Class Descriptions

 

Music Makers At Home is the first year of Pre-Piano, preparing the child for success in Music Makers at the Keyboard.This class cultivates the child's musical development through songs, tonal and rhythm patterns, poetry and stories, movement activities, listening games, instrumental play and manipulative games. Music skills such as pitch matching, beat competency, ensemble development, and music notation are explored using themes taken from the child's home environment and natural surroundings. 

Material packets include a CD, a poster and game pieces, notation games, instrument pages and a book. Children receive 2 packets per semester.
                                    *Sibling materials include all of the above except the CD w/Digital Download.

*Fall Semester Materials: "My Home Place" and "Woodlands" (CD & Digital Download, Folder, and notation games for each)
*Winter Semester Materials: "Marsh" and "Meadow" (CD & Digital Download, Folder, and notation games for each)
Amount Due for Sibling registered for same class: Tuition: $224 + Materials: $36 = $260

 

Music Makers Around the World is the second year of Pre-Keyboard, preparing the child for success in Music Makers at the Keyboard. In this class, children explore the music, dances and stories of different cultures. As always, the key ingredients are singing, listening,movement, playing instruments, and tonal and rhythm patterns. Through echoing patterns, the children will build a vocabulary of musical phrases which they can recognize aurally and visually, which leads to beginning reading of musical notation. 

Materials include a CD and Digital Download, a map, song pages, and notation games. Children will receive 2 packets for each semester. Sibling materials include all of the above except the CD and Digital Download.
 

Fall Semester Materials: "British Isles" and "Amerindians"(CD & Digital Download, Folder, and notation games for each)
Winter Semester Materials: "African American Music" and "Germany"(CD & Digital Download, Folder, and notation games for each)

Amount Due for Sibling registered for same class: Tuition: $224 + Materials: $36 = $260. 

This is a comprehensive musicianship program designed to lead your child on the pathway to music literacy. In Music Makers at the Keyboard your child will continue developing listening, singing, rhythm skills and will add beginning keyboard skills.  *A keyboard or piano is necessary for at home practice.
Please note that in order to ensure the most successful experience, this class requires the following:

*Regular Attendance including Parent time

*Commitment to daily practice.

*Parental commitment to support the process at home.
